For Racing and Perfomance Cruising Sailors
MKIV furling systems are strong, lightweight and aerodynamic, with the performance and features Harken is known for. Longevity, ease of use, and simplicity of installation are crucial components of the design. These free-rolling systems make all the difference in headsail control, allowing racers and cruisers to quickly furl and reef while maintaining great sail shape and optimal speed. Smoothly unfurl your headsail instead of hoisting a large genoa in light air - stay off the foredeck during a blow and rely on the furler for ‘crew’ when sailing shorthanded.

More Powerful and Efficient Furling
Multiple rows of large diameter Torlon® ball bearings minimize friction while the large inner spool diameter increases mechanical advantage. The unit rotates around the rod or wire headstay so furling bearings do not carry the headstay load for easy furling.

Better Sail Shape
Independent halyard and tack swivels furl sail center before head and tack for improved sail shape and upwind pointing.

Easy to Assemble
C-Shaped open connectors with low friction plastic isolators slip onto the headstay wire with no cutting of the headstay necessary. MKIV units accept a variety of rigging options for easy installation. Toggle assemblies accepts standard turnbuckle using swage, rod, Noresman or Sta-Lok terminals. A single stainless steel clevis pin provides access to the turnbuckle for adjustment.

Race Ready
A removable split drum and line guard are easily removable so that racing sails can be tacked to the deck. Aerodynamic aluminum Air-Foils with double foil grooves allow for fast hoists, douses and sail changes.

Aluminum line guard, torque tube and swivels are deep-saturation Hardcote-anodized for no-fade UV-Stabilization, strength and durability. The Hardkote-anodized line guard is urethane coated for additional corrosion protection. The goemetric shape of the foil connector interlocks to foil and secures with adhesive and screws to withstand years of torque loading.
