Harken Powered Electric winches easily raise any size sail and handle other tough jobs: halyards, jib sheets, anchor line-- by simply pushing a button. Starting at sizes 44.2, powered winches come in 12- and 24-volt DC
True TWo-speed All Harken powered winches operate in two speeds in both powered and manual modes. While some manufacturers control winch speed by speeding up and slowing down the motor, Harken motors attach to the central drive shaft so the gears (not the motor) turn the winch for two "true" speeds. This results in less drain on the battery and a more efficient winch. high-sTrengTh roller Bearings 17-4PH stainless steel roller bearings ride in a low-friction, high-strength plastic cage for less maintenance and to eliminate corrosion between roller bearings and cage. The wide-diameter center stem allows more bearings for reduced loads on each bearing and a more efficient winch. Winches 48 and larger feature stainless steel ball bearings at the base of the center stem to handle vertical drum loads.
Load Carrying
Load-carrying gears and pins are 17-4PH stainless steel for strength and durability. Winches sizes 48 and larger have roller bearings
in every gear for reduced friction. Two drive gears reduce loading and improve efficiency.
Maximum holding power
Four pawls (winches sizes 44 and larger) alternategear engagement to minimize drum backlashand maximize reliability. Pawls held captive by springs that are easy to remove for cleaning.
Manual Winch conversion
Today's Harken manual winches size 44 and larger can be converted to electric power.
Reliable Switches
Winches operate with waterproof switchesand reliable easy-to-service electric controls. Manual override A locking handle inserted into an unloaded winch automatically disconnects the motor gear for manual operation.
